Weather Tests is an exploratory film project which is an attempt of exaggereting actions and physics of each season. Sure, we've seen Tetris pop up in unusual places before, but never on a liquid 3DTV. While rows of droplets don't actually create the image here -- it's merely "painted" onto the falling H2O pixels -- computer-controlled solenoid valves can cycle 50-droplet curtains of water at up to 60Hz, making for a video-capable projector screen. See it in action after the break, or hit up the source link for a deep dive into how it works. The BBC has launched a TV, radio and online campaign to build up anticipation for the Winter Olympics. The latest commercial for our "Rethink Possible" Campaign, "Whole New World", is all about the possibilities that are out there when you expand your boundaries and embrace discovery. The first trailer for the upcoming computer-animated film Rango features the voice of Johnny Depp, as a Hawaiian-shirt-clad chameleon with an identity crisis. Footage reveals a desert setting and characters, highlighting Rango as he tries to escape a dive-bombing hawk with a rock-like toad that comes to the lizard's aid and a Greek chorus of mariachi owls. The story follows the household pet heading off on an identity quest in a town called Dirt. |
