“L’Angoisse de la page blanche” (The Anguish of the White Page) by Ariel Schlesinger is a kinetic installation where 2 A4 sheets are pressed against each other and spin at the same time. Yeah you should watch the video. Here's a funny one, whether or not it is legit, I don't know. But seeing a plasma screen rotating will keeping the picture in place, is definately cool! “Speed of Light” is a series of immersive light installations by UnitedVisualArtists, it was commisioned by Virgin Media to celebrate the tenth anniversary of broadband in the UK. The installations explore the themes of communication and modernity. UnitedVisualArtists decided to use fibre optics as it’s a perfect fit to the broadband theme. At the entrance, the visitors are asked a question, they can speak their answers into a microphone. That input is then used by several parts of the installation to guide the lasers. I’m pretty sure that it’s impossible to capture the whole experience with some photos. So if you’re in London, you can go and see “Speed of Light” at the Bargehouse till April 19th. All typography designs are fresh and beautiful collection of digital text art typography designs to inspire you that will allow you to expand your knowledge base of what typography really is. Typography Designs, combined with the efficient use of color, fonts, shapes and images, is an excellent way for designers to set a theme and mood in a design. A perfect example of how some simple lines and dots can make art.
What is Vexel? Vexel is a neologism for an entirely pixel-based form of raster art that imitates the visual appearance of vector graphics technique (i.e. sharp-edged lines and areas of flat color or smooth gradient fills). The word itself is a portmanteau derived from a combination of “vector” and “pixel. These are really cool and amazing Vexel illustrations done by amazing digital artists. Polish artist kordian lewandowski has taken inspiration from michelangelo famous la pieta sculpture and reinterpreted it using nintendo characters. Lewandowski's sculpture features mario and princess in place of jesus and mary from michelangelo’s. Named ‘game over’, the piece is made from polystyrene foam that lewandowski carved in full scale using a chainsaw at first and more precise tools to finish. While the sculpture may not be included in an art history book, it showcases one of the most iconic sculptural subjects of the renaissance re-contextualized using the storyline of mario instead of the bible. Source: DesignBoom When being a photographer, you worst nightmare is trying to properly use light. But aparantly, for Kumi Yamashita, it is not much of a problem, instead she has come up with some amazing "shadow sculptures" that look so realistic, you would might think it's either photoshopped or just edited.

Eleven years ago Dave Devries started the Monster Engine project with one single question: What would a child’s drawing look like if it were painted realistically? This month, Dave’s art is being celebrated at the INDYINK gallery where dozens of artists are putting their own takes on children’s sketches. Look for those photos next week. Many more photos here. And just to mention, doesn't this remind you a bit of Tim Burton?
