When you are the mirror itself, what do you see? Who can say what thoughts were going through the mind of this extraordinary street performer when he came up with his design for the ‘Mirror Man’. The sight of this man made of mirrors certainly must have been a surprise for the visitors to Griffith Observatory in LA late last year. A few hours spent contemplating the far off mysteries of the universe only to have one land in front of you must have perplexed a number of people that day. The views from the Observatory of downtown Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Basin are wonderful on a clear day. Possibly that is the reason why the Mirror Man climbed the slopes of Mount Hollywood. What a glorious reflection that would make, he perhaps thought. To see the city of mirrors, the city of mirages, at once solid and liquid, at once air and stone – as a mirror. The mind boggles. Paul Morand once said ‘Mirrors are ice which does not melt: what melts are those who admire themselves in them.’ Perhaps that was the main idea of the mysterious Mirror Man. Who can say? Conceivably, it is an attempt to turn these many faceted mirrors in to windows. What do you see in the reflection? Sometimes the most simple techniques can make stunning results. A perfect example of how some simple lines and dots can make art.

Vexel is a neologism for an entirely pixel-based form of raster art that imitates the visual appearance of vector graphics technique (i.e. sharp-edged lines and areas of flat color or smooth gradient fills). The word itself is a portmanteau derived from a combination of “vector” and “pixel. These are really cool and amazing Vexel illustrations done by amazing digital artists. Source: djdesignerlab The highest aspiration of life is thought to be a great desire to change the reality in the high rush for better future. Most of us spend a great amount of time in their private illusory worlds where all the dreams are coming true and all the personal goals are achieved. Coming back to Earth we are trying to rearrange the way the things are around us by carrying out big plans and high waking dreams eventually taking little actions to succeed. It’s not always happens that way. Some things work out some never does. But when it all falls to the ground frustrated and gloomy we take the first bus to that imaginary land with no worries in search for fresh inspiration and strong believes. And then back again. Fiascos and frustrations - life like cardiogram. The illusory world of artist is a bit different planet. It’s the place where the wild things go. It is inhabited by weird creatures and never have things been there in order. The place where you go when reality seems boring. It takes you out of your troubles and leaves nothing more but great mood and inspiration. Sometimes the artists even forget where lies the boundary between reality and dreams… Source: Designinterviews Here is a very clever tool I found for designers.
