Not everybody loves insects, especially ones with more then 4 legs. But these inspirational logo designs surely give us a happy inspiration as to how useful insects can be. Johnny Kelly and Jethro Haynes were asked to create new title sequences for the Dutch children TV programme Het Klokhuis (apple core), I even watched it when I was still a kid. In this TV show the explain all kinds of things and I guess they will also show how they made these new opening titles. Johnny and Jethro decided to do a stop frame animation with 3D printed apples. For each frame they had to print an other state of the apple. Very impressive! I wish they would have used and explained rapid prototype to me back then. Just to mention, remember watching this as a kid in Holland. A series of congratulatory cards fora publishing house called "Contact-culture", all created by Max Kostenko.
Recently I posted a similar color tool for designers that matches the color ratios of certain pigments. Now I found an even better one! 0 to 255 is a highly detailed color tool which gives you all the room to play with in terms of colors. Highly recommended to all graphic designers! Couldn't find much information about this, except it was meant for an upcoming tv show for kids. Hopefully it will be accepted and we'll see more of this, certainly look fun and entertaining to watch!
Usually to paint with light you need to apply long exposure techniques, for getting the picture, combined with some sources of light (LED lights, pyrotechnics etc.) that burns trail/picture on the photography. And as you can see, some pics are just amazing to look at.
Time for an interesting documentary. This time its the BBC that have made this cool time lapsed video which took them 2 years to make! Included a "making of" video to see how its been made. It’s an advertisement. The same format we flip channels (and buy devices) to avoid. And yet it’s generated a massive amount of buzz, user-generated content, and traffic in support of the soon-to-be released Motorola Droid.
Commercial director Dennis Liu, therefore, had a heck of a challenge when approached by Microsoft to hype the upcoming release of Office 2010. But Liu rose admirably to it with the film trailer spoof Office 2010: The Movie. “My idea was to treat [Office] like the most exciting thing ever,” he said via phone. “And what’s more exciting than an action movie?”
Alexis Malbert a.k.a. TapeTronic knows how to handle oldskool audio cassettes. The first video shows you his different scratch cassettes, the second one some weird customised tapes and tapedecks. |
