It's not every day you see an interresting flyer design like this. Particularly when its for a cool party and the design itself is done in an old retro styled game package. But seeing a plasma screen rotating will keeping the picture in place, is definately cool! ![]() “Speed of Light” is a series of immersive light installations by UnitedVisualArtists, it was commisioned by Virgin Media to celebrate the tenth anniversary of broadband in the UK. The installations explore the themes of communication and modernity. UnitedVisualArtists decided to use fibre optics as it’s a perfect fit to the broadband theme. At the entrance, the visitors are asked a question, they can speak their answers into a microphone. That input is then used by several parts of the installation to guide the lasers. I’m pretty sure that it’s impossible to capture the whole experience with some photos. So if you’re in London, you can go and see “Speed of Light” at the Bargehouse till April 19th. ![]() Nike Music Shoe is an awesome ad for the Nike Free Run+ shoe. In the video you can see Hifana doing a live performance by using the shoes as controllers. By bending the flexible sole of the Nike Free Run+, they can control different sounds. I’m actually pretty sure that it is real because I think that I spotted Daito Manabe in the video. And we all know what he’s capable of. I guess they’ve used some flexible sensors and hooked them up to MaxMSP. Great work! And yes, the shoes used in the video are the real sound controllers. Tomoaki Yanagisawa of 4nchor5 la6 was responsible for the hardware part. He added flexible and accelerometer sensors to the shoes. Daito Manabe of rhizomatiks did the sound programming with Max.
