Tetris and Contra, 2 games that were highly popular during the 8bit ~ 16bit video game age. And somebody clever enough has come with a funny little animation where you can see how Contra fights through Tetris. Free Fall is a video made by the freedivers Guillaume Néry and Julie Gautier. You can see Guillaume doing a base jump into Dean’s Blue Hole. They say it’s a fictional and artistic project, they wanted to show another approach to freediving videos. Even Julie, who filmed everything with a Canon 5D Mark II, hold her breath the whole time. The result is awesome. "Lego felt tip 110" printer connected to an Apple Mac. This is not mindstorms, designed/built/coded from scratch including analog motor electronics, sensors and printer driver, the USB interface uses a "wiring" board. At first glance these objects look like they are in motion, almost like every object is falling down, especially the “strawberry blanket”. In reality they are actually natural materials, like feathers, fruits and flowers, attached to nylon threads. Sculptor Claire Morgan from Belfast is the creator of this magnificent art work. She has among other things achieved a first class degree in Sculpture from Northumbria University.
Creativity has no boundary, no limit, and no measurement; it is basically the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. It involves critical thinking and then turning your imagination into reality. There are many artists who are well-versed with converting their dreams and imagination into paper, canvas, and computer screen; and because of this ability or you can say because of their creativity, they are not only gaining fame but earning handsome money. But at some point, almost every artist feels uninspired and uncreative. So, here’s the instant help on getting over creative burnout and getting your enthusiasm and creativity back.
Tiny spiders incite more fear and paranoia in humans than arguably any other insect (except @$&#! roaches). So, without fail, depraved and merciless humans frequently construct massive spiderbots capable of wreaking wanton destruction and paralyzing poor arachnophobes. Even though the annual Burning Man freak festival claims to enforce "rules that serve to protect the health, safety, and experience of the community at large," an eclectic group of eccentric masochists plans to unleash a Mondo Spider on the gathering's whimsical, unfettered revelers. The Mondo group first demonstrated its 8-legged project in 2006, and upgrades now allow a single captain to effectively steer "1,700 lbs of mechanical mayhem." Apparently, the contraption represents the "world's first walking electric vehicle," and will undoubtedly send hundreds of bohemians on hallucinogens scrambling for the med tents. Robots are obviously always awesome, but that spectacle alone will be worth the price of admission. Amateur anthropologists, robot lovers and hopeful participants will have to wait until August 30th to experience the inevitable chaos and hippie hilarity, though. Christopher "moot" Poole is founder of 4chan, an online imageboard whose anonymous denizens have spawned the web's most bewildering -- and influential -- subculture. The founder of 4chan, a controversial, uncensored online imageboard, describes its subculture, some of the Internet "memes" it has launched, and the incident in which its users managed a very public, precision hack of a mainstream media website. The talk raises questions about the power -- and price -- of anonymity. This is short film directed by Gavin Kelly, it follows 4 MMORPG players talking about their online persona's. As they tell their stories, we see them go about their everyday lives against the mundane backdrop of city life...but as their Avatars. |
