Polish creative Szymon Kabala graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland but not before designing and executing this charming little visual working titled Reset. Its based around one lone character who unfortunately doesn’t seem to have a name, he’s a small robot type figure who task is to check everything within his world is working to order and how it should be. Id like to imagine that Szymon got a very high mark for this piece, it always seems that the projects that are uncreative and tick the right box gain the top grade on many degree courses of late. I for one think a piece like we have here should be celebrated, Szymon has clearly had a vision of creating a project that stands apart from what the last crop of students implemented, very innovating and original. I think we can all agree here that his hard work has paid off, and regardless of the mark he achieved this is one graduate with a strong future ahead of him. SuperNews! is a comedy series where the absurdities of everyday life are pushed beyond reality in a hilarious universe of animated characters. And now Google has finally developed technology that can literally sift through your *bleep*. A highly inspirational film directed by Denis van Waerebeke for the « Bon appétit » exhibition, aimed mainly at the kids aged 9 to 14. For Dr. Martens 50th Anniversary, The Cinematic Orchestra cover Lilac Wine - a track made famous by Jeff Buckley in 1994. The music video is directed by Blind. For the founder of The Cinematic Orchestra – Jason Swinscoe – working life began at Ninja Tune, the London-based independent record label. Here, Swinscoe would distribute records by day, while by night he’d develop a sound that would eventually evolve into The Cinematic Orchestra. Their popularity and growing reputation amongst critics is largely down to their unique sound. Their diverse, imaginative, jazz improvised, electronic approach was praised by Uncut magazine as “every hard-boiled neon-lit Hollywood thriller you’ve ever seen.” Cari Lekebusch doesn't mess around when it comes to dropping proper techno music, something which he has shown in abundance over the past few years. As a prelude to his album, Cari will release two singles this June that once again show who's boss. The Macabre EP features two tracks, both equally stomping. The title track is a deep, dark techno banger with a variety of sinister sound effect and industrial effects. The groove itself is as we can expect from authentic techno: slowly progressing, yet packing an awesome vibe decorated with stunning fx. Including a short animated film called "ARK" that fits well with the track. A knight. A princess. A dragon. Three little kids. One school play. An epic battle for love and honor. Dragonboy is a collaborative thesis done by Lisa Allen, Bernie Warman and Shaofu Zhang at the Academy of Art University. Descendants featuring the voice work Whoopi Goldberg is one of those who will try to cash in the greatest all-time grossing movie in monetary terms. The CG animated film by Heiko van der Scherm will always be in the shadow of Avatar’s fame due to timing. This great little movie is reaping many awards as it plays many festivals and with good reason. This neat short film, titled “8-Bit Gary” and directed by Mortar Inc.’s Docter Twins, is ostensibly about the DVD upconversion capabilities of Toshiba laptops, but we know the truth: Really, it just makes you wish that the “8-bitinator” was real. Thanks to the vaguely Capsule Corp.-looking device, a guy named Gary is converted into a pixellated, bleep- and bloop-emitting avatar and then ‘upconverted’ back into a musclebound hunk. Hilarity ensues. Fun, impressive fact: According to Design Taxi, the 8-bit Gary costume consisted of more than 3,000 hand-cut foam boxes. This video was part of a Bachelor thesis at the University of Applied science and art Hannover. The Super Mario Bros. game, released on the Nintendo Entertainment System, is not longer bound to the television size and get interactive with a new environment. The emphasis of my thesis is on the matchmoving work. It is the process of matching CG elements into live-action footage. |
